On Assignment 6 : " The Wedding Portraiture "

..Terminal moraine of the khumbu Glacier: " November Nostalgia On Everest Base Camp 2012 "

..from Lobuche to Gorak Shap on the way to Everest Base Camp 5360 m the trail goes directly up the Terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier . The first first section of the trail follows the western side of the Broad Khumbu valley and ascends gently through meadows beside the glacial moraine . the ascent becomes steeper and rougher as it crosses several side moraines ,although the trail is usually well defined .In places , however , an active glacier is under the moraine , so trail is constantly changing. route- finding techniques include looking for stone cairns as markers and watching for traces of yak dung - a sure sign of the correct trail !

The Chortens at Dughla La Pass 4820 m : " November Nostalgia On Everest Base Camp 2012 "

..at Dughla La Pass, there are many rows of stone monuments in memory of climbers who died in an expedition on Everest , mostly Sherpas !

..of all the various genres of photography,wedding photography is, perhaps, the most challenging one. It does need the most care. It's , after all , the most precious day in someone's life .the wedding photography is the solid task to capture the joy , laughter , happiness and apprehension through the view finder . I'd used ambient light to off camera flash with a little bit of practice to create magical shots , keeping a track of different rituals . ..Khumbu Khola the perfect stream on the way to Pheriche valley 4240 m ,the coldest spot in the entire Khumbu region ( The windy place ) .It follows through the Valley from the Chola glacier to Shomare !

.. " Relics ; The skull & a Hand of a Yeti " - November Nostalgia On Everest Base Camp 2012 !

..The Pangboche Gompa  is the oldest in Khumbu and contains relics that were said to be the skull and a  hand of a Yeti ( Abominable snowman ) . Sir Edmund Hillary, Village headman konchok chumbi, Desmond Doig and Marlin Perkins took this relics to USA in 1960 to be examined by scientists. The scientists said the scalp was made from the skin of a serow, a member of the antelope family, but the Yeti legend still continues!

 

.. " Mt. Ama Dablam " - November Nostalgia On Everest Base Camp 2012 !

.."Ama" means mother and "Dablam" means charm box, and a special pendant worn by elder sherpa women that holds precious items.The mountain has a hanging glacier that resembles a dablam and the two extending ridges are outstretched like a maternal embrance. Ama Dablam is the mountain in the Himalaya range of the eastern Nepal.The main peak is 6,812 m. the lower western peak is 5,563 m. Ama Dablam dominates the eastern sky for any one trekking to mount Everest base camp and may be the most captured peak in the Khumbu region.It was first climbed on 13 March 1961 by Mike Gill (NZ), Barry Bishop (USA), Mike Ward (UK) and Wally Romanes (NZ) via the southwest ridge. Ama Dablam is the third most popular Himalayan peak !
